Yangon Golden Rock Package Tour 5 Days 4 Nights

Day 1: Yangon Arrival
Arrive in Yangon where you will be welcomed by your local tour guide and transferred to your hotel to drop off your luggage. If you arrived by mid day flight, we may proceed for lunch. After lunch, a walk through “downtown” Yangon, a diverse mix of faded colonial architecture from the British times, and high-rises built by more recent investors; “Sule Pagoda”, built in the early 3rd century is a landmark in the city centre.

Late afternoon visit the magnificent “Shwedagon Pagoda” of Rudyard Kipling fame and one of Myanmar’s most sacred places. The massive bell shaped stupa is plated with gold and the tip of the stupa is set with diamonds and rubies, sapphires and topaz – a stunning sight as the sun sets and a most fitting place to begin our trip in this “Golden Land”. Overnight at the Hotel in Yangon.

Day 2: Yangon/Golden Rock
After breakfast, drive to Kyaikhtiyo, a small Pagoda, insignificant in size but unique in its position. The small stupa sits on top of a massive rock which is completely covered with gold leaf and delicately balanced on the edge of the cliff. Upon arrival at base camp proceed to the next camp, called Yathetaung, by open truck, about an hour’s mountain drive. Take a light trek or you sit on the easy-chair (own expense) carried by four men to the Golden Rock along the steep concrete footpath. Stop at the roadside shops to view some unusual products that come from the local jungle. A short walk to a small cave which looks like the beak of a crow.  Enjoy sunset from the hill and back to your hotel.   Overnight in Kyaikhtiyo.

Day 3: Golden Rock /Bago /Yangon
After breakfast at hotel, drive down to the base camp onto Yangon.  Visit Bago on the way.  Its classical name is Hamsawaddy and lasted about 300yrs from 1365AD to 1635AD.  The golden period reached during the time of King Bayinnaung when he twice conquered Ayutthaya, but, unable to sustain it long.  Upon arrival, take a look around the town including a visit to the local market, Shwetharlyaung – a 55 meters long reclining Buddha Image, Shwemawdaw Pagoda – a spire that is even taller than that of the great Shwedagon Pagoda, the renew Grand Palace and the Ordinatin Hall. On the way back see the Four-seated Buddha Image (Kyaikpun) & pottery work place, Htaukkyaunt War Cemetry home to 27000 allied forces who died in the Arakan-Burmese Front during the WWII. Return to Yangon through rural landscape of rice fields and small villages. Overnight at the hotel in Yangon.

Day 4: Yangon Touring
After breakfast, visit Bogyoke Aung San Market for souvenir shopping. The name of the market in British administration is Scott Market in honor of Municipal Commissioner Mr.Scott and established in 1920 at the land plot of Cinema Hall ( Elephant Stone & Cinema De Paris being demolished later ).

After lunch , drive to “Chauk Htet Gyi” reclining Buddha its enormously 65 meters long. And proceed to “ Kandawgyi Lake” , a royal lake since before 1877 and used to supply the water to residents living around there in British occupation. A night view of a royal barge with full of Myanmar Architecture are hit it off with the spectacular view of Shwedagone Pagoda. Return to your hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 5: Yangon Departure
After breakfast, we will pick you up from the hotel and will set you down at Yangon

International Airport Departure Lounge to capture your return flight on time .
